About the Program

The City of Hamilton's Commercial District Revitalization Grant Program permanently offers grants to cover graffiti removal costs for eligible properties. If you're a business owner in Barton Village, Downtown Hamilton, or any of the city's designated commercial corridors, you may qualify for financial support.

By removing graffiti quickly, property owners help deter future vandalism and significantly improve the aesthetic and safety of their surroundings — and the City wants to help make that happen.

Key Details

The Commercial District Revitalization Grant Program is a permanent City of Hamilton initiative.
Owners or tenants in commercial or mixed-use buildings can apply — you don't have to own the property.
Covers up to $200 per incident, for a maximum of 5 incidents per property ($1,000 per calendar year).
Properties must be located in designated corridors or BIAs. Check your eligibility on the City's map →
No application fee is required for the graffiti removal portion of the grant.

What You Need to Apply

Prove occupancy or ownership
Provide documentation showing you own or rent the property — a lease agreement or municipal tax bill works.

Fill out the application form
Complete the official City of Hamilton application form →

Submit after photos
Take a photo of the cleaned area (dated and location-identified) and submit it to the City to complete your claim.
